Install software
To complete these installs, you must have administrator privileges on your machine. Choose the version appropriate for your operating system. You can also watch a video for a Mac, or a Windows install (you only need to install R and RStudio, and none of the other programs mentioned in the videos). Please also note that the versions of R and RStudio in the video are older. Instead, install or update to the latest version supported by your operating system.

- Choose among “Download and Install R” section (not “Source Code for all Platforms”).
- You must have R installed before proceeding to step 2.
- RStudio https://rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/#download
- Version 1.3.1093 (only for macOS El Capitan and older: legacy version 1.1.463)
- Select FREE Desktop version.
- Choose among “Installers for Supported Platforms” section (not “Zip/Tarballs”) or follow the link to older versions of RStudio if you need a legacy version.

R-Studio for Windows, R-Studio for Mac, and R-Studio for Linux each deliver the same powerful disk recovery tools and user-friendly interface on their respective platforms. Regardless of the host operating system, R-Studio can read, write, and recover drives, partitions, and files created by Windows, Mac, or Linux. Last released version for Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) was R 2.10.1, last release for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) was R 2.15.3, last release for Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) was R 3.6.3. Other binaries The following binaries are not maintained or supported by R-core and are provided without any guarantee and for convenience only (Mac OS X 10.4.4 or higher. Click on Download R for (Mac) OS X. Click on Download R-3.5.1.pkg (or a newer version) or you use the following direct link: R-3.5.1.pkg. Download RStudio Desktop for mac from the RStudio. Contains R 3.3.3 framework, R.app GUI 1.69 in 64-bit for Intel Macs, Tcl/Tk 8.6.0 X11 libraries and Texinfo 5.2. The latter two components are optional and can be ommitted when choosing 'custom install', it is only needed if you want to use the tcltk R package or build package documentation from sources.
